HOW TO PLAY? The rules and regulations of Sepak takraw are very much similar
to that of volleyball. The rules are very based on event levels and
SEPAK TAKRAW organizations. The game is played between two teams which are
known as Regu. There are two types of Sepak takraw events;

REGU: three players on each side

DOUBLES REGU: Each team has two players
1. How to play sepak takraw is fairly simple. Each
team occupies one side of the court. A coin flip
decides which team serves first.
HOW TO PLAY?
SEPAK TAKRAW 2. A team will serve for an entire set (set = 21 pts.).  After the first
set is completed, the other team serves for the next set. The team
that wins two sets first is the winner.

3. The set begins when the feeder tosses the ball to the Tekong who kicks the
ball over the net to the opposing team. The feeder and striker must stay in their
designated space until the ball crosses the net. Teams have 3 touches to return
the ball over the net.

4. he touches that are allowed are the same as in soccer. Players are able to use their entire
bodies with the exception of the arm – from shoulder to fingertip.
Points are scored as one team commits faults, which brings us to the rules of the game.
The sepak takraw rules are simple, especially if you are
familiar with volleyball and football (soccer). The object is to
RULES score points against the other team by touching their side of the
court with the ball, or by the other team committing a “fault”.
SEPAK TAKRAW

A “fault” is committed when one team does one of the following:

1. Kicks the ball out of bounds

2. A team exceeds 3 touches before returning the ball across the net
3. Touches ball with arm or hand
4. Tekong (server) makes contact without being on the ground on a
serve
5. Tekong does not make contact on serve
6. Touching the net
7. The ball hits the ceiling or ground
TEKONG The main purpose of Tekong's role is to serve the ball. Ideally,
he will send the ball across the net with great speed making it
SEPAK TAKAW hard for the opponent to defend.

PLAYER
STRIKER The Striker or killer is responsible for executing the volleys in
to opponent side with high speed. When the striker does not
SEPAK TAKAW possess the ball, he usually tries to block high kicks from the
PLAYER opponent side.
The third player is the Feeder, who has the maximum control
FEEDER over the ball during the match. He is the most agile and
responsive player in the team. The main job of feeder is to set
SEPAK TAKAW the ball in suitable way for the striker to kick hard across the
PLAYER net.
