Sustainable Agriculture

Project Proposal
Here is where your presentation begins
Scope for Digital transformation and innovation in the Agri ecosystem

● Cost and Risk is high, while paying the small farmers scattered
geographically, in cash.
○ Digitalisation would reduce the obligation to distribute cash by setting
up branches in various rural areas, thus enhancing the efficiency of
transactions.
● Inaccessibility of financing options by small farmers fo finest input and short
term investments.
○ Digitalisation would allow flexibility in payments and thus thus
combines the demand of input.
○ Fastens the process of loan disbursement by using data to make
decisions to give loans.
● Small farmers have low accessibility to crop markets.
○ Digitalisation bridges small farmers and buyers to offer favourable
buying opportunities.
● Lack of enough working capital forces farmers to sell right after harvesting.
○ Digitalizing data about storage of data (both quantitative and
qualitative) would allow calculation of the value of crops for
financing.
Scope for Digital transformation and innovation in the Agri ecosystem

● Introduction of IOT, in agriculture would allow farmers to generate and track data about their
produces, and perform real-time monitoring of their crops and fields, the water levels, fertility of
soils etc. The company can use this data to analyze the credit worthiness of farmers, understand their
earning potential and give loans accordingly.

● Smart Farming based on IOT can enhance productivity and reduces wastage. Though it is capital-
intensive it could be funded by raising capital in order to deliver crops grown sustainably and
extremely profitably and productively to the public.

● Introduction of Blockchain and Artificial Intelligence in the ecosystem which will be helpful in
automating the irrigation system, crop health monitoring by drones, predictive analysis as well as
food safety and supply chain and there should be a land title registration along with the
disbursement of subsidies.

● Digitalisation would improve productivity of farms and help in reducing the losses that occur due to
crop stresses such as pests, diseases, and unpredictable weather conditions.
Scope for Digital transformation and innovation in the Agri ecosystem
● Innovative technologies AI, blockchain, IOT and smart farming, can uphold farmers in order to get high yield,
provide financial solutions to farmers and arbitrators and creating robust supply chains for input and output.
● Collaboration with various institutions to work on a commercially sustainable and biodegradable farming to
reduce the carbon footprints, as a part of their Corporate Social Responsibility.
● Bridging market and adding value and conservative technologies near to the farm gate can minimize loss of crop
after harvesting and smoothen supply chain efficiency.
● Startups and FPOs can works together to reduces wastage and increase value of farm produce.
● Creating tools of financing, bonds, assembly can aid in transition of a rural nation into a digital sound nation by
undergoing such digital transitioning directly focused on the Agriculture value chain. Local innovations are the
need of the hour who can aid in local growth making our nation self-sufficient.
● The company can even collaborate with startups the aim to help in the growth of Agri-ecosystem, such as Gobasco
(2017, Delhi, $1M), KHETHINEXT (2017, Hyderabad, $5M & Farmguide (2014, Gurgaon, $1M) in order to
increase their reach amongst the farmers.
