Consequently, doctors should not, on the basis of the medical examination conclude whether rape/sexual assault had occurred or not. Only findings in relation to medical findings should be recorded in the medical report. OPINION Drafting of provisional opinion should be done immediately after examination of the survivor on the basis of history and findings of detailed clinical examination of the survivor. It should be always kept in mind that normal examination findings neither refute nor confirm sexual violence. Hence circumstantial/other evidence may please be taken into consideration.
