INTRODUCTION

• The concept the role of a corporate communicator is to make the


consumer aware, instruct and persuade towards the organization vision,
mission and values to create a good image and reputation, therefore, they
need to be extremely truthful and accurate before their internal and
external stakeholders.

DIGITAL PRIVACY
• Meaning:
1. Privacy refers to unauthorized duplication of copyrighted content that is
then sold at substaintially at low price in the market .

2.Digital privacy is a form of online privacy and includes the


unauthorized online distribution of electronic copies of copyrighted material
such as software, movies,music,games ,etc.

 
• Why does privacy exist?
1] Unwillingness to pay
2] Companies have enough money already
3] Financial gain
4] To get pre -experience
5] To spread malware

• How to protect yourself from privacy:-


1] Register your copyrighted work in tamely manner.
2] Proactively monitor the internet
3] File protection and watermarking
4] Password protection
5] Change download link regularly
CASE STUDY :
RIGHT TO INFORMATION
• Parliament of India which sets out the rules and procedures
regarding citizens right to information.
RIGHT TO INFORMATION ACT came in force on
13october,2005. Under the provision of RTI act any citizen may
request information from a public authority. This act also
promote transparency and accountability in the working of
every public authority.
• Procedure for obtaining:

1. Information needed should be requested on RTI online portal.

2.The fee charged is Rs10/- and below poverty no charges avail.

3.Public authority takes 30 days to provide information.

4.If any third party involved then 40 days.

5.If any life & liberty involved then the information has to be provided
within 48 hours.
6. If delay then penalty will be charged and is Rs250/- day.

7.If not satisfied then you can apparel to Higher Authorities.


CASE study: The Adarsh Housing Society
Scam

• With help activists Simpreet Singh and Yogacharya, this scam was
exposed. The Adarsh Housing society was originally planned to be a six
story building which was structured for the war widows of 1999 Kargil
war and it was astounding to see that how this converted into a 31-storey
building and how various ministers and army officials created a bee line
to get these houses way below the market price. It also became evident
that no environmental clearance was taken before building this high rise
building in a Coastal Regulation Zone. Some of the most prominent names
which came forward during this scam were the then Union Minister
Suresh Prabhu, Former Army Chief Deepak Kapoor, diplomat Devyani
Khobragade and Congress Party Leader Kanhaiyalal Gidwani.
DEFAMATION
• INTRODUCTON:
• It is the communication of a statement that makes a claim ,expressly
stated or implied to be factual, that may given an
individual ,business ,product ,group, government ,religion or nation a
negative or inferior image . This can be also any disparaging statement
made by one person about another ,which is communicated or
published ,whether true or false ,depending on legal state.
• **DEFAMATION may be a civil charges or a criminal charge under
Section 499 and 500 of IPC**
• TYPES OF DEFAMATION:
• **1.]SLANDER**
The common law origins of defamation lie in the torts of ''slander''
[harmful statement in a transitory form ,especially speech ] each of which
gives a common law right of action .if the offending material is published in
some fleeting form, as by spoken words or sounds ,sign language ,gestures
and the like ,this is slander
• **2.]lIBEL**
Libel is defined as defamation by written or printed words ,pictures or
in an y forms other than by spoken words or gestures .The law of libel
originated in the 17th century in England .With the growth of publication
came the growth of libei and development of the tort of libel.
• Three major essentials for defamation are as follows:

1.] FALSE STATEMENT.


2.] PUBLIC PUBLISH.
3.] PLAINTIFF REPUTATION MUST GET EFFECTED.
• INNUENDO
Sometimes the statement may prima facie be innocent but it
has some hidden or secondary meaning which will be considered as
defamatory . Such statement are also know as INNUENDO.
Invasion of Privacy: –

• In India, we all have the right to privacy. But,


sometimes, this right is being curbed [keep back]
especially in case of celebrities or any public figure.
Invasion [capturing] of privacy is the unjustifiable
intrusion [interference with]into the personal life of
another without consent.
• The four most common types of invasion of privacy
torts [wrongful act] are as follows:
1.Appropriation of Name or Likeness: Appropriation [act of taking something, usually
without permission]of a person’s name or likeness for commercial or trade purpose
without any permission is an invasion of privacy

2. Intrusion Upon Seclusion: Intruding someone’s private affairs, physically or


otherwise, is subject to liability if the other person finds it offensive and unacceptable.

3. False Light: The disclosure of information that may be true but is nonetheless
misleading or damaging.

4.Public Disclosure of Private Facts: As the term suggests, it is about encroaching


someone’s personal territory
