3.0 CONCLUSION

Our line capability between San Marco and Grange
is insufficient. Presently, we are 2.3 percent under
our desired goal. Using the vacated fibre cables
will not solve this problem because the current
configuration does not meet our standard.
Upgrading the current configuration will improve
our capacity by 9 percent and still present us the
risk of service outages.

Abstract
Due to the deregulation and the recent economic
recession, we must reduce our working force by 12
percent.

Our plan for doing so involves:
 Freezing new hires
 Promoting early retirement
 Temporarily laying off third-shift line technicians

Achieving the above will allow us to maintain
production during the current economic
difficulties.
