◦ Essence or gist of the whole proposal
◦ A page on its own; does not exceed one page
◦ Contains:
◦ Brief of the purpose of organization - intro
◦ Problem statements – the needs
◦ Mechanisms – problem solving
◦ Purpose and anticipated end result (outcome) – objectives
◦ Type and amount of support requested – what is needed
◦ Other important information

◦ Good to provide mission statement
◦ Describe activities and target audience
3. NEEDS / PROBLEMS
◦ Identify needs or problems to be addressed
◦ Include target population / any statistical info

◦ Addressed before? Outcome?
◦ Impact to target population?
◦ Impact to surrounding populations?
**Literature reviews are needed to support statements
Show the relevant of the idea in the proposal writing

Support the ‘why’ you need to organize an event


Problems:
For example:

Students are lack of confidence in speaking in English. So?

The neighbors do not know their neighbors and the neighborhood. So?

Lack of motivation and appreciation to staff. So?

Students are not familiar with the library and its facilities. So?

◦ Use appropriate action verbs
◦ Examples:

required: bookings, ordering, purchasing and its
details
◦ Can be presented in a table of through a diagram
