 SPECIAL PROGRAM IN THE ARTS

• Special Program in the Arts (SPA) is a program made by the

Department of Education in the Philippines to give talented
students a chance to enhance their talents in different fields.
• There are six disciplines in the SPA; Creative Writing, Visual
Arts, Theater Arts, Music, Dance, and Media Arts.

• Tanauan National High School started implementing the
(SPA) Special Program in the Arts last school year 2019 up to
present headed by our former Principal Mr. Michael A. Regis,
and its now on three years implementation.
• The SPA teachers were all trained on their respective
specialization attended the “Sanay Guro” at Bohol and SPA
workshop at PICC Manila before handling the discipline.

• This school year the MAPEH/SPA department is now
preparing for the accreditation in order to be recognized as
school implementer. In order to pass this accreditation, the
school must provide the classrooms with proper facilities
and equipment in every specialization. Therefore, the
school is now looking for funds to provide the needs of
SPA students that would help to enhance their talents and
skills.
