WORK CULTURE IN US AND CANADA

Employees are treated as equals and independent views are welcomed. American work
culture involves a lot of meetings. These meetings need not deal with big decisions, but are more
like discussions, and are centered on analyzing, planning and reviewing of a project. Opinions and
ideas are shared and objections are made.

U.S. business culture is typically less formal and less hierarchical than other countries', reflecting the
American belief in equality. Employees often address one another by first name, have greater access
to superiors, and exhibit a relaxed approach to dress and communication.
