have the best specification of a gaming rig however if you’re using the network LAN it can may affect everything your performance in the game will be terrible with very slow connections which you don’t want you want fast speed
connections. By using the network WAN which is a large area network. With a Lan network your speed of the internet won’t be that much and the amount of speed of the internet connection is in mbps you won’t be that surprised.
You can form a local area network with a switch to create network through ethernet cables e.g. a institution such as a College or a office. For example I have home are the following: PC, laptop, mobile phone, nintendo switch, Psp,
Xbox one, Xbox 360, PS2 some are gaming on the go anywhere that need using a LAN to connect to odeon cinemas in leeds I have done that before the WI-FI is so incredibly amazing that the upload and download speeds are fast
therefore the mb/ps are highly effective to use to improve the gaming experience. The portable devices e.g. mobile gaming and game consoles are using the network LAN by connecting a switch that has multiple ethernet ports to
get the highly atpicapted best experience in gaming using a network LAN through a switch in contrast a LAN doesn’t cover a large geographical area such as a WLAN that has a wireless access point that allows your modem/ WIFI
that provides a wireless connection to your wireless devices so you can be anywhere around the house gaming because LAN network is affected by the connection by the distance apart from the modem therefore the connection
will be dramatically slow. I prefer a WAN for my gaming experience because I can get improved frames per second, 4k support gaming capabilities such as ray tracing and rendering display, faster internet speeds through a HDMI
2.1 port that can improve my gaming experience of using all the best capabilities of my PC’S capabilities to the max to overcome obstacles and over rule another’s PC and to perform very outstandingly and phenomenally. I strongly
agree that WAN is so beneficial and perfect for playing games online because it uses wired connection such as ethernet cables that ultimately is the connection that you will use that will be connected to a switch that is connected to
your modem then it is connected to your PC or games console through ethernet cables for faster connections and speeds. A WAN covers a large geographical area which covers around 100m distance so let’s say your gaming on
your gaming pc in your room and the source such as the modem your wifi box covers approximately around 50m distance so your room internet connection is not that stable where if you connect your wireless router on your wifi box
your signal and your connection will increase therefore your latency will not be affected which is amazing. I prefer WAN for streaming using streaming software such as streamlabs/ OBS where is handles my streaming display
where I can change and improve the streaming capabilities, change my bit rate which is third parties are watching my stream of me playing games in good quality and no latency using elgato 4k streaming game capture device
where HDMI ports is used to connect to the pc though the use HDMI 2.1 port. By using a WAN you can connect through the game servers and you can get to playing with friends and you can play with strangers on online gaming
where you can interact with each other which helps improve the communication through the use of a output device such as a headphone or a input device of your PC has a internal/external microphone to help communication.

case PC or games console wirelessly. I use a Wlan where for instance I play
Xbox in my room whilst I use a wireless router where it connects to the modem
from down stairs and gives a stable connection however I will be honest In my
opinion. I rather prefer a high spec gaming PC rather than a Xbox One because
I could use fast ethernet cables on my PC to get better performance because
ultimately a high spec gaming PC is far way better than a games console and
the PC overpowers it. When using the network LAN the communication between
online gaming is in a massive effect because of latency and the feedback from
the microphone on the headset will be intervened and therefore lag. The
communication wouldn’t be as that effective and excellent is because slower
internet speeds of transmitting data of less mbps than fiber optic cables
therefore your upload and download speeds are in less effect rather than more
more mbps of transmitting more and more information and data to give better
upload and download speeds. The distance between the LAN covers a small
geographical area where the internet distance has been affected by how far you
are to the ISP (modem/router) then it will really has a knockdown effect on
internet speed, internet connection, upload and download speed you will get
when playing games on your PC/games console. LAN can get latency through
Wifi because you connect your modem to ethernet cables to the back of your

a wireless access point. When gaming you need a better cable management

WAN uses which doesn’t cover cover a large area 50m is nothing in distance

The advantages of using the network WAN for gaming is so beneficial and so important is because when there is no latency then its brilliant and effective for gaming.

LAN- Slower internet speeds therefore the functionality produces less stable connectivity because latency is a major impact and effect on the user’s experience also communication and it lacks engagement through the use of
microphone or headset. When the radio waves are converting digital conversion from your PC/game console then It converting into radio waves as a form of a path by converting digital conversion into analogue conversion. The
draw back of getting interference of the conversion of analogue ended up lagging causing latency due to the lack of poor and weak internet strength of the connection that affects the connection so bad and the connection performs

Network Failure
Wan
The network failure for the WAN use the network topology
such as mesh topology where in this scenario I would
connect my modem on the switch with fiber optic cables
which transmit data and information very effectively. I will
insert another fiber optic cable from the switch directly to the
PC/games console to get high speeds internet connection
also so that it cover a long distance so if I am in my room in
the attic the distance covers a large geographical area. The
bandwidth is fast however the drawback is that it allows 4-5
users using the network which is quite surprising because
with high speeds cables you think that more users can use
the network. In reality that is not the case the more users
you can on the network that is uploading videos e.g. from
your games on the Xbox app to your phone so you have
your video that you have captured in game. The download
speed can be affected by the amount of traffic of users
downloading games e.g on the Xbox or Playstation let’s say
the game is 100gb and you’re using fast speeds connection
in that area and other users on the network are downloading
videos, photos on their tablets or phones that will result in
internet collision because to many traffic all at once are
uploading and downloading at the same time. For instance if
you have 4 PC’s connected to that switch using high speed
connections if one fails then it will still find it self because the
physical aspects is that it is interconnected with wires which
somehow the PC’s connection to the internet will still find a
way to quote because all the other pc’s are connected
together on the same switch.
 Comparison of Networks
Reliability- The LAN is less efficient in transmitting data and information very frequently in regards of upload and download speeds gaming on your high spec PC.
Which is not a stable internet connection therefore it is not reliable in my perspective because the less mbps you can transmitting less connection you will achieve. Is is reliable
in a way because when one PC for instance fails other PC’s are working fine which doesn’t impact on all of the computer just the one that has failed as a result. The LAN needs
to have a wireless access point for connecting wireless devices on the network however the WAN doesn’t need to be used because cables are in the factor to connect to the
PC/games console directly. The LAN doesn’t cover a large geographical area therefore it doesn’t cover a large distance for gaming in result there will be latency, can get high
ping which is bad for the connection also your frames in your game can will feel and experience to not the strandars you have intended and you will feel like to improve by using
fast internet connection speeds such as fiber optic cables to transmit data and information faster and better.

The WAN is more reliable because it can transmit around a total amount of 200mbps input/output with fiber optic cables that transmits data and information at a
constant high connection speeds with good bandwidth. The mesh topology has been applied for form a WAN that covers a large geographical area which is
brilliant and fantastic because less latency (ms) you get lower ping which is more excellent the less ping you are more engaged and immersed you are with the
game. The network is very stable and it is a very strong connection that has a consistent upload and download speeds which is fast and quick. The speeds of
the network is fast which allows around 4-5 users on whereas a less secure and less strong strength bandwidth of internet connection is probably LAN. Which is
not beneficial for improving the PC’s capabilities of internal components whereas WAN can improve the PC’S components by have excellent connections to
have the best gaming experience ever by having the best ping with no latency.
Comparison of Networks- performance
LAN
LAN performance whilst playing on the PC/games
console can have weak connections therefore the
performance of internal components with in the games
console/PC can either be great or negatively a bad
impact on the user’s experience whilst gaming and is it
not at the standard that the user wants and needs are.
The LAN performance will cause latency because wifi
covers around 50 metre in distance which is not that
effective if you’re further from the modem (ISP)
whereas the WLAN cover a large geographical area for
wireless connections which is phenomenally. The more
closer and closer you are to your modem for instance
the better the signal the internet connection is and that
will be determined on the distance you are from your
modem. Packet switching improves the gaming
performance in a more engaging way in a gamer’s
perspective also in a IT perspective is that data is a
setback and forwards to the PC, switch to the others
person’s computer this has been applied for both
networks such as LAN and WAN which helps
connectivity in lobby’s and game serves to be able to
communicate and interact with your friends and other
people which is outstanding. Through wi-fi you can get
latency which is really bad for the gaming performance
because you can get the most ping which allows your
game to feel choppy and doesn’t look and feel effective
you can see this by the movement and the screen is
lagging bad this is how you can pint point or your
frames will drop a lot.
WAN
First of all the WAN cover 100 metres which is so much better than
the LAN in so many ways because the more distance it has the
more further you can be from the modem which gives a great result
because you can get less problems in relation of network issues,
better ping in games, enhanced graphical improvements fulfilling the
high spec PC’s true capabilities and many more. The fiber optic
cables are much more expensive because they consist and provide
you constant high speeds connections that gives a high upload and
download speed in result to improve your gaming experiences more
better and effectively. Whereas the ethernet cables that are used for
the network LAN has slow speeds which is less expensive cables
but high effective for connection your modem to your PC/console to
get better results for the gaming performance. If you’re streaming on
a streaming platform such as Youtube, Twitch, Mixer, Streamlabs
OBS, facebook gaming etc: you will need your bitrate, upload and
download speed needs to be brilliant and that will be determined on
your bandwidth the more mbps you have the fast the games will
load, perform well, environment and surroundings will be amazing,
textures, better connectivity via microphone or headset, better
connectivity when playing games with friends, family or potential
strangers that you can be friends with as gamers that’s awesome
but be careful whilst playing games online and be safe. If you have
high specifications PC’s the best way to approach and go by it is by
using wired connection you will never regret this because it
performs very well for instance on a Xbox series X it has around
1440p 4k true gaming also it has 120fps with using a 2.1 hdmi
cable.
Mesh Topology
The mesh topology is is were interconnected wires are plugged into the switch which helps communication so better also it
transfers data and information to your personal PC/games consoles through fiber optic cables. The main source of power
that interconnects the cables, the PC/games console all together is to be able to access the web and share data and files
across to the internet. Without a switch in the equation you can’t form a network therefore it is compulsory to use a switch
for advance. Initially the switch is connected to the modem (ISP) through ethernet cables then through ethernet cables that
is connected to your gaming rig/PC or you computer games console. The switch allows access to the internet and provide
the access though the switch’s network card same as the wireless router that has the network card built in to have a
internet connection to browse the web and to be be able to do collaborative working, version control for let’s just say you’re
doing a assesy, assignments or a piece of work on your PC and you want to provide the rights then you can share the
work. In this scenario of gaming is that the mesh topology is a great topology to form a network to for a WAN so that my
gaming experience is the best advantage and in its full potential. The mesh topology is using wired connection through
fiber optic cables whereas wireless connections use ethernet and to achieve a wireless access point but in this purpose
you need fast internet cables to make your network secure, fast bandwidth, upload and download speeds frequent and
consistent by providing 200mbps and that there is no internet collision to get the best experience as a gamer point of view.
The mesh topology is one of my best topology to use to form a stable network with fast internet speeds to do the job on the
other hand no other network topologies is better that a mesh topology because mesh topology can be either LAN or WAN
because it can do that however for the network failure I like how it find its route back and get that computer up and running
back again it's so interesting and it engages me to so much to gain more knowledge and intelligence in knowing the
strengths and weakness of networks and analysis the network failure and how the network find itself again.
 Ring Topology
A ring topology uses a switch to form a network where two nodes form to make one path. A ring topology is its
name its a form of a ring where let’s say for example there is 4 computers are they are all connected to the main
source teh switch to from a network for instance the network LAN if one computer gets cut off and lose its
connection and experience network issues there is most likely all the rest if the others will get taken down
because the failure intercepts all of all the other network traffic where its sharing fails, data and information
between the computers and suddenly a computer loses its network and get s cut off that will be a significant
consequence to the entire network which is a draw back in my opinion. If you’re gaming with your brothers on the
same network via internet and if one of your experience a network fault, issue or a problem like if its illustrating
run the connection through internet diagnostics then you know that something is significantly wrong with the
connection, bandwidth and and you need to resolve the solution to get your network back up and running again.
The network topology such as the ring the only downside is that if one fails the whole entire network failure which
is not the best but it will work just make sure that you minuses the amount of users because positively resulting
the prevention of internet collision, which is brilliant because you will have less chance of this hpeeing but can
still occur so I don't necessarily prefer this topology for gaming because if the network fails the user experience is
not what the reaction you’re looking for nore it is creating a good impression for gamers who are experts at
gaming or people who wants to have fun and play.
 Star Topology
I like the star topology because the main source is the switch to form the network and if you’re
connecting all 8 computers through ethernet cables directly to the switch I would like to say that this
network is forming a LAN. Let’s say you're in a tournaments let’s say your having a tournament on
your network so the friends as well using the same network and the game becomes laggy due to
latency of internet collision where multiple people on PC’s are using the same network. If one PC
failed due to the collision then all the other 7 PC’s are still working fine and perfectly is this because
if one fails the other ‘s others of the fact of the main source that it is forming the network is the
switch that is connecting all the computers that is allowing allow the information and data to be
transferred without the switch there wouldn’t be access to the web or internet connection. Internet
collion in a star topology is that one PC fails the other PC’s are still working and has not failure or
made the entire network failed no that’s not the case in this scenario I am implying. I am illustrating
a point that along as the switch is still in the factor or equation and is staying controlled meaning the
switch is working fine you don’t have to worry about internet collisions for gaming on the web.
 Games console- (PS5) & PC
A games console is used to play video games to run on a high frame rate and have high graphics to look amazing. The new consoles, for
example PlayStation 5, are used to run games and play games. A games console is up to date that has the newest graphics on them. The ps5
has an excellent CPU that sends data and information faster and quicker. It has a better GPU and it has large internal storage built internally that
runs fast. A games console is used for entertainment needs and it is for free time after homework and if it’s a Hobby of yours that you enjoy doing. A games
console can manage to run games with the best performances for ray tracing or performance mode to get better fps. A games console allows you to use
applications such as the Microsoft edge for browning the internet, to check the PlayStation or Xbox store for new games, watching youtube for tutorials on how
to do something or vlogs. I can use my games console for streaming music to my Hi-Fi. My Xbox is displaying its display by using an HDMI cable that is
connected to my monitor for display, I have connected an aux lead to my monitor so the audio is much better so I can listen to whatever I am watching with
audio outputting from my HI-Fi.

A PC is where you use on a daily basis for home learning for revising. You can use a desktop at school to do assignments, homework. It is also
used for programs such as Microsoft windows. Applications such as Netflix are for streaming services that are for entertainment needs.
Animation software such as adobe animate is for animation so you can animate characters, scenes, backgrounds etc. Editing Softwares such as
photoshop is where you can edit photos and videos excellently with perfection and you can come out with great results. The resolution on
Alienware pc has a resolution of 1920x1080p. A pc is used for running programs, streaming services, software, applications, browsing on the
internet, video games and for research.
