Analysis with SHELL MODEL
 No specific procedure or instruction

 Not manufactured by OEM, not compatible for

maintainability

 Not enough of proper maintenance GSE facilities

 Human factor, fun and over-active nature

Poor Software + weakness Hardware + unsafe condition of

Environment + unsafe acts of Liveware = incident/accident
Implement with SHELL MODEL

 Relevant maintenance manual (be clear, easy to read, easy to

understand, easy to do)

 Proper resources are available (order and stock anticipated parts )

 Establish a safe and comfortable work environment (reduce noise,

adequate lighting, environmental controls, required facilities)

 High level of co-ordination and teamwork (knowledge and skill to

communicate effectively)
Conclusion
 Good operating procedures (as simple as possible, easy to
understand, easy to do)

 Good educated training (relevant on-type; aircraft/equipment /tools)

 Good environment (convenience for working)

 Good co-ordination and teamwork (3Cs: be Correct, be Complete, be

Clear)
To add some facts
 According to the SHELL model (must good-match the central L)

 Responsibility on both (maintenance person and organization)

 Health and fitness (to perform our jobs effectively and safely)

 To avoid maintenance errors in aviation ( follow regulations,

organization provide facilities and training; HF, MMS, SMS)

 Not only above these,

up-to-date our knowledge and fitness for our health
