1. Open Project: 3. Automatic Save:
Opens an already saved Petrel Autmatically saves Petrel project
project (.pet). 1 overwriting the current saved
version. Should be used with
caution.
2. Save Project As:
Saves Petrel project prompting 2
you for a new name. Both the .pet 3
file and the .ptd data folder are 3
saved.

Contains all imported data
and all generated files not
linked to the 3D Grid.

Contains all Fault models
and 3D grids with faults,
zones and properties.
Bold item
Click on an object name to
make it active.

Workflows pane
Stores workflows created by the

Windows pane
Lists each window and its settings.
Can be saved or deleted.

Select a standard Project Unit System
from the drop-down menu (e.g. Metric or
Field), or toggle Customize to set units
from a mixed unit system.

Set Petrel to visualize tabs in dialog
windows as multiline tabs instead of all
tabs at one line.

Object Settings – Statistics Tab
The statistics for each item can be checked
under the Statistics tab.
List 1
Describes the X, Y, Z coordinates; Z being
depth or time. If an attribute is available it will
also be shown.
List 2
Describes different data and values related to
the object.

Each Tip button is related to one topic/algorithm/setting and is described in more detail, sometimes
with explanatory pictures.
Use the tip buttons for quick information. Position the mouse cursor on top of the tip button to
visualize the information box. Further information can be found in the Online Manual (next slide)
