1. Generals and positive steps :-
– Atul singh is the President of coke business in India.
– John Ustas, an expat who moves from Coke Norway, as CEO for its Indian company-owned bottling
operations
– Cold drink giant Coca-Cola has announced its partnership with the United Nations Human Settlements
Programme (UN-Habitat) to improve community access to safe drinking water and adequate sanitation in
West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh and Nepal.
2. Issue’s went against the company :-
– On August 19, 2003,
The Consumer Disputes Redressal forum in Punjab's Moga district has directed a Coca Cola bottling plant to
pay more than Rs 100,000 in fines and damages for releasing a contaminated batch of soft drinks in the
market. A laboratory test found "foreign material injurious to health" in a 1.5 liter bottle of Coca Cola.
– On April 28, 2006,
In yet another 'eye-opener' judgement, Coca Cola was ordered by a city consumer court to pay over Rs 1
lakh after a man found dead insects in an unopened bottle of "Sprite" advertised as the company's top
product in the softdrink market.
– On 29 Jan 2008,
The District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum, Fatehgarh Sahib, has fined Coca Cola Rs 15,000 after a
tobacco pouch was found in a bottle of the company.
