GLOBAL WARMING
What is Global Warming?

Global Warming is the 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴-𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗺 𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴

𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗲𝘁'𝘀 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲. The
excess heat in the atmosphere has caused the
average global temperature to rise overtime,
otherwise known as Global Warmimg.
How there was a Global Warming?

Though natural cycles and fluctuations have

caused the Earth's climate to change 𝘀𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹
𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁 800,000 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀, our
current era of Global Warming is directly
attribute to human activity- specifically to our
burning of fossils fuels such as 𝗰𝗼𝗮𝗹, 𝗼𝗶𝗹,

Why there is a Global Warming and where does
Global Warming come from?

Global Warming is an aspect of climate change,

reffering to the long-term rise of the planet's
temperature. It is 𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱
𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲
𝗴𝗮𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝘁𝗺𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲, mainly from
human activities such as burning fossils fuels,
and farming.
When did Global Warming begin?

Our new study, published in Nature, has found

that is some parts of the world the Industrial
Revolution kick-started Global Warming

Why did Global Warming start?

Scientists attribute the Global Warming trend

observed since 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗶𝗱-20ᵗʰ 𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗿𝘆 𝘁𝗼
𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 "𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻

-warming that results when atmosphere traps
heat radiating from Earth towards space. Certain
gases in the atmosphere block heat from
escaping.

How can we solve the problem of Global Warming?

The primary way to solve Global Warming is

and carbon-free energy sources such 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗿,

What will happen if Global Warming will not
stop?

billions-of people if we don't act.
Disadvantages of Global Warming:
- Loss of species habitat due to the climatic changes in
the environment.
e.g: Extinction of polar bears as ice melts due to global
warming and harms their living conditions.
- Increased air pollution which further causes problems
like allergies and asthma and breathing problems.
- Increases number of deaths leading to population
destructions.
- Environmental destruction, e.g: deforestation
- Poor living quality - rise in temperature, changes in air
quality etc.
Advantages of Global Warming

-The Arctic, Antarctic, Siberia, and other frozen regions of the earth
might experience more plant growth and milder climates.

-The next ice age could possibly be prevented.

-The Northwest Passage through the formerly icy Canadian Arctic

Archipelago could arguably open up to transportation.

-Fewer deaths or injuries would occur due to arctic conditions.

-Longer growing seasons could mean increased agricultural production

in some areas.

-Previously untapped oil and gas reserves might become available.

Facts about Global Warming.

1: Most of the increase in global temperatures since 1950 has been caused by human activity.

2: The average temperature of the Earth is determined by the green house effect.

3: Global temperatures have increased by about 1° Celcuis in the past century.

4: The United States is the second largest contributor to carbon dioxide (C02) in our atmosphere.

5: Arctic sea ice and glaciers are melting.

6: Average sea level is expected to rise between 0.5 and 1.5 metres before the end of century.

7: Rainforest destruction is a major cause of carbon dioxide release.

8: Coral reefs are being destroyed.

9: As global temperatures increase, our societies will find it harder to adapt to the changes this
brings, and some species are more likely to go extinct.
