CLOUD INTEGRATION GATEWAY

– SAP Ariba Cloud Integration Gateway(CIG) is enabled by SAP Cloud Platform Integration(CPI) which integrates SAP Ariba solutions into existing
customer infrastructure.
– SAP Ariba Cloud Integration Gateway specializes in supply chain and procurement processes with a defined set of message types and Ariba interface
specific mappings.
– CIG enables integration between Ariba and backed ERP systems without the need for multiple adapters

Why should we look at CIG now?

• This is the future roadmap of Ariba
• Business would like to look at opportunities to support Asset
procurement between Ariba/ECC
• Existing integrations based on the CI-9 adapter will no longer be
supported by Ariba post 2019
• CI9 interfae has existing challenges in supporting the current PO
integration between Ariba/ECC
• Ariba is adding additional functional enhancements using CIG only
• Opportunity to eliminate additional Integration layers by directly
connecting the Ariba Cloud platform with SAP

CI9 INTEGRATION ENVIRONMENT

– From an Ariba perspective, CI9 may utilizes the following Integration technologies:

• DIRECT CONNECT using CI-9 HF28 Add-On in SAP ECC

• WEB SERVICES

• Add-On in ECC for Dynamic Discounting (ECC <> AN)

1. For all Transaction integration with Direct Connect. In addition Web Methods is used as purely a pass-through tunnel between Ariba and ECC.

2. For all Master Data integration with Direct Connect. In addition Web Methods is used as purely a pass-through tunnel between Ariba and ECC.

3. For Invoice integration, generally Web Services used between Ariba and ECC, Web Methods is used as middleware with “customized” cXML
webservices mapping
4. For Dynamic Discounting integration, generally client uses Add-On for AN Integration. Web Methods is used purely as a pass-through tunnel
between ECC and Ariba Network.

CLOUD INTEGRATION (CIG) SCOPE

– The Overall Goal for our POC is as follows:

• Establish the Communication between Ariba and ECC

• Validating the overall CIG architecture within current client landscape and associated impacts

• Validating the application functionality in P2P using the new CIG framework

– Note: initial focus for the POC is only going to be for Purchase Order Integration between P2P and ECC
• Determine impact to the developments and customizations done for Ariba & ECC environment

– Note: PO related development/customizations along with Asset associated enhancements.

• Analysis of work effort needed to eventually Migrate from Direct Connect to CIG framework.

– Note: Migration assessment will be focused around PO processes

• Validating cloud connector capabilities without using the existing Middleware components (Web Methods or Mulesoft)

– Note: This will be focused only for PO process and Web Methods will continue to exist as middleware for Master Data and Invoice integrations.
