=Reign of Terror

External Threat
• The threat of external forces is coming from countries such as Austria,
Prussia, Spain and Britain.
• The émigré group is a Frenchman who is not in the French state and is
also a third class estate.
• They find protection abroad as in Austria, Prussia, England and many
other countries.
• But these three countries are so dominant to give case examples
because, the various actions of the country have influenced their
actions to threaten France or the revolution.
• This is because, their purpose in doing so was to restore the power of the king
and restore the situation as before.
• Causing the emigrants to try to get outside powers to help them achieve this
success because, the emigrants had used issues such as territory and the status
of King Louis XIV needed to be freed from the revolution.
• Austria thought they needed to do something in order to free the King of France.
• This is illustrated by a letter King Louis gave him before convincing the emigrants
to assert that King Louis's struggle was the struggle of the European
government.
• This led to the Austrian emperor and the electorc cooperating with France on
the border.
• In order to increase the pressure on France, Austria introduced the
