Team Efficacy
• Effective teams have confidence in themselves they believe
they can succeed.
Team Identity
• When people connect emotionally with the group they are in,
they are more likely to invest in their relationships with those
groups. It’s the same with teams.
Team Cohesion
• The team cohesion is described as a situation in which
members are emotionally attached to one another and
motivated toward the team because of their attachment.
Mental Models
• Team members knowledge and beliefs about how the work gets done by
the team.
Conflict Levels
• Conflict has a complex relationship with team performance and its
not necessarily bad.
• Relationship conflicts – those based on interpersonal
incompatibility , tension and animosity towards others.
• Task Conflicts – Stimulate discussions , promote critical assessment
of problems & options.
Social Loafing
• Individuals can engage in social loafing and coast on the group’s effort
when their contributions can’t be identified.
• Effective team members undermine this tendency making members
individually and jointly accountable for the teams’ purpose, goals and
approach.
