Background of study:
History
• Globalization refers to the expansion of global linkages to
consolidate our society. It is a process completed in the 20th
century through which the capitalist system spread across the
world. According to world system theory the modern world system
originated in the 15th century when Europe established economic
ties with other countries through technological innovations, rise of
markets, advances and production and trade. It helped Europe to
accumulate wealth and resources from other countries. But in the
16th century the capital-intensive policy of European cores
promoted inequality in the world system and caused the emergence
of a large number of peripheral areas dependent on the skill and
technology of the cores (Shahzad, A. / 2006).
Background of study:
Conceptual
• An Official Definition: According to WHO, globalization can be defined
as “the increased interconnectedness and interdependence of peoples
and countries. It is generally understood to include two inter-related
elements: the opening of international borders to increasingly fast
flows of goods, services, finance, people and ideas; and the changes in
institutions and policies at national and international levels that
facilitate or promote such flows” (WHO / 2006).
• International law or “Public International Law has been defined as a
body of legal rules which regulates or governs relations between
international persons (subjects). This contemporary definition of
Public International Law goes beyond the traditional one which defines
this law as a body of rules governing relations between states” (Walid
Abdulrahim / 2016).
Problem of Statement
 Law has traditionally been the province of the nation state, whose courts and police enforce
legal rules. By contrast, international law has been comparatively weak, with little effective
enforcement powers. But globalization is changing the contours (shape) of law and creating
new global legal institutions and norms.
 On another hand, globalisation effects on the environment. It can aggravate environmental
problems as well as provide new means for addressing them. Globalization has led to an
increase in the consumption of products, which has impacted the ecological cycle.
globalization has led to an increased volume of legitimate cross-border financial transactions
and investment, it also has allowed criminals to launder the proceeds of crime more
easily. finally opportunities for both transnational criminals and terrorists are now available
via the Internet.

 Finally, globalization has effect to the states sovereignty power in different aspects, such as
in its Laws, economics, political ideologies and cultural norms.
The Objectives of the Study
The General objective of the Study:
To identify the Effects of Globalization on the International Law

The Specific objectives of the Study:

To describe the effect of globalization on the national criminal law
To determine the impacts of globalisation on the environment law.
To specify the Impact of Globalisation on state sovereignty

Research Questions

What are the effects of globalization on the national criminal law?

What are the impacts of globalisation on the environment law?
What are the impacts of Globalisation on state sovereignty?
The Significant of the Study
This study will be useful for future researchers because it will act
as a source of information and also a guideline for them to follow
in the subsequent studies related to same problem under
investigation.
The study will also be useful for institutions both public and
private because it makes them aware of the existing issues and
also proper ways to come up with long lasting solutions for the
researched problems.
The study will also be benefited by the local community because
it creates conscious awareness of the severity of a particular
problem and also the urgency of the need for a solution.

International Law Globalisation

 To describe the effect of globalization

on the national criminal law
 To determine the impacts of
globalisation on the environment law
 To specify the Impact of Globalisation on
state sovereignty
Methodology
Research Design
 This study's design was descriptive, which means it described a
specific problem in the study.
 The study was also designed in a cross-sectional manner,
which means that research data was collected at a single point
in time.
 The research was also quantitative in nature. The goal of this
type of research is to numerically determine the problem at
hand.
Study Area
This study was carried out in Mogadishu, Somalia. It is the capital of
Somalia. Mogadishu is located in southern Somalia. It is bounded on
the west by the Lower Shebelle region, on the east and north by the
Middle Shebelle region, and on the south by the Indian Ocean.
Mogadishu is Somalia's capital and most populous city. Mogadishu also
houses a number of government institutions, including the Parliament,
the Supreme Court, and the Government.
Sample Size Determination
The researcher used an online sample size calculator for sample
size determination, with an emphasis on determining the
required sample size.

• Level of Confidence: 95%

• Total number of Population: 100
• The margin of error is 5%.
• The ideal sample size is 80.
Data Collection Instruments
 The research data was gathered from the target population using a
questionnaire.
 The study's goals and objectives were explained to the
participants.
 They were also asked to answer the questions truthfully.
 The data was analyzed using Statistical Package for the Social
Sciences (SPSS).
The Study's Participants
 During the data collection process, the researcher targeted
NGO employees, law professors, law lectures, law students,
and other legal academics.
 These categories represented the target audience.
Results: Findings and Discussions
Personal information
• The result and findings of the study were the following: the
majority of the respondents were male and The majority of
age respondents were 22- 30 years the major marital status of
the respondents were single Majority of educational level of
respondents were a bachelor the majority of respondents for
level of experience was less than 2 years in experience.
Specific objectives
• Globalization has caused pollution, damaged ecosystems, contributed to
climate change, the majority of those who responded to this question agreed.
• Globalization can help spread the positive effects of environmentally, friendly
technologies and practices from developed to developing countries, the
majority of those who responded to this question strongly agreed.
• Globalization has led to an increased volume of legitimate cross-border
financial transactions and investment; it also has allowed criminals to launder
the proceeds of crime more easily. Finally, countless opportunities for both
transnational criminals and terrorists are now available via the Internet, the
majority of those who responded to this question
• Agreed.
continue
• Globalization has led to changes in the opportunities to commit crime. This
has meant increases in some types of crime such as fraud, and new crimes
such as cybercrime. ... Crime has become transnational made possible
through technological advances and communication, the majority of those
who responded to this question strongly agreed.
• The globalization affects the state sovereignty to some extent because the
State Government has to follow the international decisions on various global
issues, the majority of those who responded to this question strongly agreed.
• Multinational corporations and their foreign direct investments are another
part of globalization which undermines state sovereignty. ... This is when the
state cannot protect its citizens from external or internal affairs as for
example terrorism. To prevent that governments form inter-governmental
organizations, the majority of those who responded to this question agreed.
Recommendations
1) Responding to climate change poses a fundamental challenge to
globalization's guiding principles. As a result, all industrialized
nations should try to prevent the worst effects of climate change.
2) Climate criminals must be tried and brought to justice because of air
pollution, which has caused many people to become ill and some to
die.
3) Despite the fact that the environment is extremely important to the
global society, all states should operate with environmental
protection as a top priority.
4) While globalization has touched everything, including state
sovereignty, states must protect their sovereignty from external and
internal affairs.
5) To address the gap that I haven't covered, I recommend that the
researchers following me focus on more data relating to this topic.
