breadth of land = 300m
area of rectangular land = length *breadth
= 500*300

perimeter of park = 320 cm

side of square = perimeter/4
= 320 /4
= 80 m
area of square = side * side
= 80 *80
= 6400 cm2
Q4. A wire is in the shape of a square of side 10 cm. If the wire is
rebent into a rectangle of length 12 cm, find its breadth. Which encloses
more area, the square or the rectangle?
side of square = 10cm
perimeter of square = 4*side
= 4* 10 = 40 cm
this is also the perimeter of rectangle
perimeter of rectangle = 2(l+b)
2(12+b) =40
12+b= 20
12+b = 40/2
b = 20-12 =8cm
area of square = side * side
= 10* 10
=100 cm2

area of rectangle = length * breadth

= 12*8
= 96 cm2
