NATURAL RESOURCES
These are materials or things that people use
from the earth.

Two types:
Renewable Resources
Non- Renewable Resources
WHAT IS RENEWABLE RESOURCE?
A renewable resource is one that can be used repeatedly and
does not run out because it is naturally replaced.
Examples:
 Trees
 Animals
 Water
 Air
Solar energy is a renewable source of energy that is
sustainable and totally inexhaustible, unlike fossil
fuels that are finite. ... It is considered an
environmentally friendly source of energy because
it comes directly from the Sun; it does not involve
the burning of fossil fuels.
Geothermal energy is a renewable resource. The Earth
has been emitting heat for about 4.5 billion years, and
will continue to emit heat for billions of years into the
future because of the ongoing radioactive decay in the
Earth's core.
Wind is a renewable energy source. Overall, using wind
to produce energy has fewer effects on the environment
than many other energy sources. Wind turbines do not
release emissions that can pollute the air or water (with
rare exceptions), and they do not require water for cooling.
Biomass fuels are a renewable resource because they
can be replaced fairly quickly (times ranging from one
growing season to perhaps one or two decades)
without permanently depleting Earth's natural
resources. By comparison, fossil fuels such as coal,
petroleum, and natural gas require millions of years to be
produced.
Water is renewable because the water cycle is
continually recycling itself. Water evaporates, forms
clouds, and then rains down on the Earth, starting the
cycle again.
If renewable resource is one that can be used
repeatedly and does not run out because it is naturally
replaced and can be replenished in a short period of
time.

WHAT IS NON- RENEWABLE RESOURCE?
