Classical Persian dance is a style of concert dance that evolved from

Tap dance originated in the United States in the early 19th century at the

identities.
Jazz dance developed from both 19th- and 20th-century
stage dance and traditional Black social dances and their
white ballroom offshoots. On the stage, minstrel show
performers in the 19th century developed tap dancing from a
combination of Irish jigging, English clog dancing, and African
rhythmic stamping.

Merengue Dancing
Merengue is a style of Dominican music and dance. Merengue dance
is the nation of the Dominican Republic and is also important to
national identity. It is a type of danced walk and is accessible to a large
variety of people with or without dance experience. The music of
merengue draws influence from European and Afro-Cuban styles and
mainly uses instruments like guitars, drums, and a charrasca or metal
scraper.The dance originated as a rural dance and later became a
ballroom dance.
Contemporary is an important genre of dance performed in
societies around the world, celebrated by people both
young and old. Developed during the 20th century,
contemporary dance involves incorporating aspects of
movement from several other genres such as jazz, modern and
ballet.

Hip Hop DanceHip-hop dance began during the late 1960's and early 1970's, originally

performed on the street for the people. Hip-hop incorporates aspects of modern dance, tap,
and swing, integrating music and complex movements to form artistry.

Dance Nowadays
Today's dance style has taken a turn towards more hip hop dances. Because of hip hop has
not been around nearly as long as most dance styles, it's still the most popular style to this
day. Small and popular dances that involve hip hop and that most everyone can achieve
include the whip and nae nae, Gangnam Style (its a little old), shooting, and more. Ballet,
jazz, and contemporary are very popular in dance studios, especially competitive dance
studios.
