2
Behavior

The simple definition of behavior is the way a person or thing acts or reacts.

Behavior is the actions and mannerisms made by individuals, organisms, systems or artificial
entities in conjunction with themselves or their environment, which includes the other systems
or organisms around as well as the physical environment.

It is the computed response of the system or organism to various stimuli or inputs, whether
internal or external, conscious or subconscious, overt or covert, and voluntary or involuntary.[1]

A child throwing a outburst is an example of bad behavior.

3
Attitude

In psychology, an attitude refers to a set of emotions, beliefs, and behaviors toward a

particular object, person, thing, or event. Attitudes are often the result of experience or
upbringing, and they can have a powerful influence over behavior. While attitudes are
enduring, they can also change.

Psychologists define attitudes as a learned tendency to evaluate things in a certain way. This
can include evaluations of people, issues, objects, or events. Such evaluations are often
positive or negative, but they can also be uncertain at times.

For example, you might have mixed feelings about a particular person or issue.

4
Components of Attitude

● Cognitive Component: Your thoughts and beliefs about the subject

● Affective Component: How the object, person, issue, or event makes you feel
● Behavioral Component: How attitude influences your behavior

5
Attitude Formation

There are a number of factors that can influence how and why attitudes form. Here is a
few list to look at how attitudes form :-

● Experience: Attitudes form directly as a result of experience.

● Social Factors: Social norms involve society's rules for what behaviors are considered appropriate.
● Learning: Attitudes can be learned in a variety of ways.
● Conditioning: Operant conditioning (through reinforcing) can also be used to influence how
attitudes develop.
● Observation: Finally, people also learn attitudes by observing people around them.

6
Education’s Importance to form of Attitude

Education has become one of the clearest indicators of life outcomes such as
employment, income and social status, and is a strong predictor of attitudes and
wellbeing. An educated person is well mannered and obedient by law. S/he can
take care of things and event by himself.

7
Education’s Importance to form of Attitude[2]

To become an educated personal, people go through many training phases and

perform task, test, responsibilities to prove him or herself can play vital role in
society. Such as

● Observe etiquette in all communications, giving respect to others, fellow

students, staff and the larger college community.
● Take full advantage of college resources available to his/her.
● Respect diversity in people, ideas, and opinions.
● Achieve educational goals in an organized, committed, and proactive manner.
● Take full responsibility for personal behaviour.
● Comply with all college policies.
Why Attitudes Change

While attitudes can have a powerful effect on behavior, they are not set in stone. The same influences
that lead to attitude formation can also create attitude change.

● Learning Theory

Classical conditioning, operant conditioning, and observational learning can be used to change attitude.

● Elaboration Likelihood Theory

Messages that are thought-provoking and that appeal to logic are more likely to lead to permanent
changes in attitudes.

● Dissonance Theory

people can also change their attitudes when they have conflicting beliefs about a topic.

9
Identity

Our identity is very linked to our daily tasks.

That's why When we meet people, we’re tempted to ask: ‘what do you do?

● Identity is the qualities, beliefs, personality, looks and/or expressions that

make a person (self-identity as emphasized in psychology) or group
(collective identity as pre-eminent in sociology). One can regard the
awareness and the categorizing of identity as positive or as destructive.[2]

Identity encompasses the memories, experiences, relationships, and values that

create one’s sense of self.

10
Good Identity & Learned Attitude

Education is ‘social identity’, framing their understanding of themselves and their

relationships with other people. A positive, affirming social identity is associated with a
range of positive outcomes in life, such as increased wellbeing, health, social trust and
political engagement.
