My Goals As A Future Counselor
My future counselor goals list is long. There are many programs I want to
implement. My number one goal is to impact as many lives as possible, and it
does not have an end date. Then there are the goals I would like to meet during
my first year as a counselor, which are:
• advocate for all students
• meet with administration to discuss developing a comprehensive school
counseling program
• collaborate with the principal on the master schedule to ensure the counselor
has time to push into the classroom or counseling classes are integrated into the
schedule
• establish an advisory board that includes two administrators, two teachers, two
parents, two students, cafeteria manager, and counselor
• implement college and career readiness programs
• create a bullying curriculum using bibliotherapy
• continue teaching digital citizenship and social injustice courses
• implement an RTI model and follow through with intervention
upon receiving results
• create and present professional development workshops
• be intentional when preparing for individual and small group
counseling
• be a change agent who helps to create a school culture of success
for all
