Curriculum integration “engages students


as active learners who make the most of
the decisions about what they study”
(Brown, 2016, p. 123).
Why is it Important to Plan Units?

o Helps develop a high-quality plan that guides


instruction (2021)
o Gives students the idea of what will be
covered, why, and what’s expected of them
(2021)
o Helps develop the learning outcomes

o Allows for better organization
o Promotes academic success through integration
of different design elements
o Provides a better opportunity for students to

o Carefully align lessons to standards and review what needs to


be covered
