HISTORY OF THE PROGRAM
• 15 April 2010 President Obama cancelled non – Orion element of
«Constellation» program.

• 26 March 2019 – NASA announced that Moon landing goal would be

accelerated by 4 years with a planned landing in 2024.

• 14 May 2019 – NASA announced «Artemis» program.

NASA'S powerful
new rocket will send
humans and cargo to
the Moon and
beyond. The Space
Launch System is
designed to be
flexible and
evolvable and is the
agency’s first deep
space rocket since
Saturn V.

13% more thrust at
launch than the
space shuttle and
15% more than the
Saturn V

more to the Moon than

Orion will serve as the
exploration vehicle that
will carry the crew to
space, provide
emergency abort
capability, sustain
astronauts during their
missions and provide
safe re-entry from deep
space return velocities
