Overview
The circular traditional dwellings in
kutch called as “BHUNGA HOUSE” is
a vernacular house that is built in a
sustainable manner by the meghwalis
of kutch,Gujurat.

• The houses are circular in shape with a conical thatched roof, this
design was adopted to minimize the damage of the houses during
earthquakes.
• They are built in such a way that the interiors are kept cool in summers
and warm in winters and can a;so withstand natural calamities.
• These are mainly constructed away from one another and on barren land
with no agricultural value so, it does not lead to soil erosion.
