SYNOPSIS
For years, Abe Portman has told stories to his grandson Jake about his
childhood surviving in World war I, battling monsters and living at a secret
home for children in Cairnholm, Wales. According to Abe, the home's children
and their headmistress Miss Alma Peregrine possess paranormal abilities and
are known as "Peculiars".
When Jake turns sixteen, he responds to a panicked phone call from Abe
and goes to his house and find him dying with his eyes removed. Abe tells him
to go to "the loop of September 3, 1943".
When Jack discovers clues to a mystery that spans different worlds and
times, he finds a magical place known as Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar
Children. But the mystery and danger deepen as he gets to know the residents
and learns about their special powers. He also learns that there are groups of
bad peculiars trying to gain immortality. When their big experiment failed, they
became the hollowgast. With the help of wights monsters who look human the
hollowgast roam around and eat peculiars. Only Jack can see them.Ultimately,
Jack discovers that only his own special "peculiarity" can save his new friends.

INTERPRETATION

This film is taken from the novel (the first part of the trilogy novel, to be exact) by Ransom
Riggs, and basically is a dark fantasy with monsters, time loops, and magical powers that
spice up the story of psychological trauma. this film manages to sedate us with fantasy This
film has many characters. Their performances are all as cool as their unique abilities. In
production, this film is very attractive. Fantasy and visual elements are the main attraction.
Also full of characters who are, of course, unique with balanced performances that are just
as cool. But, It's disappointing because of the main character who is very boring.
Moral Value
#Stay Peculiar is the theme chosen as the
tagline of this film. This moral message
teaches us to accept our whole selves as
they are, as strange as they are, and be
proud because that is what distinguishes us
from others. Every character in Miss
Peregrine has their own uniqueness,
including Jake, who at first was always
inferior because he felt he could do nothing 2
SUMMARY

This movie has happy ending. In the end of story, Jake plans to save
Ms. Peregrin, by using Jake's ingenuity and maximizing the children's excess,
he is finally able to knock out hollow monsters and save miss peregrine. After
that, Emma and Jake confess their feelings, and start traveling along with
Miss Peregrine and the other children.
With exciting stories, dark-mysterious tones, and beautiful visual
effects, We can say Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children is a good
movie and Tim Burton's best work.
