VISUAL ART

• is an umbrella term for a comprehensive classification of art


which consists of several artistic disciplines. But commonly,
these are primarily visual in nature such as picture (painting,
drawing, and printmaking) and sculpture. A picture is two-
dimensional image produced by using different media such
as ink, oil paint, charcoal and watercolor. Sculpture, on the
other hand, is three-dimensional that may be shaped by
means of a stone, wood, and marble. Some of the
contemporary art techniques are:
• 1. Collage
• 2. Digital Arts
• 3. Graffiti
• 4. Print Making
• 5.Mixed Media
• 1. Collage is made by pasting different materials
such as pictures and pieces of paper or textile.
• 2. Digital arts describe technological arts which
include digital photography and digital painting.
• 3. Graffiti are either serious, rude, political,
humorous words or drawings printed on public
walls or structures.
• 4. Print Making is the creation of images,
typically on paper, fabric and plastic materials.
• 5. Mixed media are artworks made by combining
two or more art materials or medium.
• 2. Dance is an instance of moving the human
body to the beat of a music choreographed in
definite time, form and space.
• 3. Music is an art that appeals to sense of
hearing. It is composed of ordered tones or
sounds in succession
• 4. Architecture is an art form of planning and
erecting structures especially habitable ones.
• 5. Theater is an art form of presentation. Scripts
are represented on stage by actors and are
boosted by props, lights and sounds.
• 6. Literature is a written work having form or
expression of thoughts of permanence or
universal interest.
• 7. Film/Cinema is a technological transformation
of a theater. Scripts are portrayed but are pre-
taped and edited before its showing.

• After World war II, artist started creating proletarian art which
depicts the life after the war, social issues, and economic
problem.
• It was also during this period PARIS CUBISM took its scene.
– it is a kind of cubism showing gragmented figures in larger
planes, color harmonies, and texture.
• 3 known cubist during their times.

• Napoleon Abueva- famous for his modern works

• made use of different material like variety of woods, metals


and stones.

• Ramon Orlina and Impy Pilapil- explored the use of glass in
making sculptures-
• “Surrealism” emerged which explored the world of dream.
• Known surrealist Galo Ocampo and Juvenal Sanso.
• Magic Realism_ refers to style in painting showing minute
details of the subjects and highlighting their texture and color.
