The Early Church

By: Bro. Kevin Roy Jaldo

Act 2:42 They devoted themselves to the
apostles' teaching and to the fellowship,
to the breaking of bread and to prayer.
Act 2:43 Everyone was filled with awe,
and many wonders and miraculous signs
were done by the apostles.
Act 2:44 All the believers were together
and had everything in common. (NIV)
Act 2:45 Selling their possessions and
goods, they gave to anyone as he had
need.
Act 2:46 Every day they continued to
meet together in the temple courts. They
broke bread in their homes and ate
together with glad and sincere hearts,
Act 2:47 praising God and enjoying the
favor of all the people. And the Lord added
to their number daily those who were being
saved. (NIV)
WHO WANTS TO BE PART OF
THOSE KIND OF CHURCH?
Signs and Wonders were evident
Extravagant giving was rampant
Meetings were everywhere
Growth and favor were unstoppable
BUT, WHO WANTS TO KNOW
THEIR SECRET?
Act 2:1 When the day of Pentecost arrived,
they were all together in one place.
Act 2:4 And they were all filled
with the Holy Spirit and began to speak
in other tongues as the Spirit
gave them utterance.
BUT, WHO WANTS TO KNOW
THEIR SECRET?
Yes, it’s the work of the Holy Spirit, but, we have
to understand that we have also a part to play.

Act 2:42 They devoted themselves to the

apostles' teaching and to the fellowship,
to the breaking of bread and to prayer.
DEVOTION MEANS
steadfastly, continuously, tirelessly
giving attention/committing to
something or someone

In the Last Days, false teachers will rise up
(Matt. 24:11 ) so, we should be careful to
what and where we’re listening to
2Ti 4:3 For a time is coming when people
will no longer listen to sound and
wholesome teaching. They will follow their
own desires and will look for teachers who
will tell them whatever their itching ears
want to hear.
2Ti 4:4 They will reject the truth and
chase after myths. (NLT)
2Ti 4:2 so proclaim the Message with
intensity; keep on your watch. Challenge,
warn, and urge your people. Don't ever
quit. Just keep it simple.
2Ti 4:3 You're going to find that there will
be times when people will have no stomach
for solid teaching, but will fill up on spiritual
junk food--catchy opinions that tickle their
fancy. (MSG)

Heb 13:17 Obey your spiritual leaders, and do what they say.
Their work is to watch over your souls, and they
are accountable to God. Give them reason
to do this with joy and not with sorrow.
That would certainly not be for your benefit.
