• Doctor: inexperienced the number of patients have grown, cannot sleep but now he
can, lacks confidence (beginning), unsure changed to confidence, initially he calls the
place ‘house’ in the end he calls it ‘home’, negative thought – he could joke about the
situation.
• Restless but he cannot sleep in the end all he wants is sleep
• Setting: terrifying atmosphere, gloomy, Beginning= ‘wind howling’, snow covered the
house’ Ending= large snow flakes, silent, solitary-he wanted the peace to rest.
• Lantern was dark at the beginning green- ending lantern was lit.
