An Internet site is asking for people’s opinion about the

role of celebrities in your country. Write a blog entry

Writing a (ca.300 words) in which you consider the following:

formal ◦ what makes celebrities so interesting for so many people

comment ◦ which fields of life they represent/or come from


◦ whether celebrities make good role models
◦ whether their private lives are of public interest
Structure
◦ Introductory paragraph (3-4 sentences):
◦ Topic Sentence: A statement that is the main idea of the text. It is direct and gets the reader’s attention!
◦ Although I am not into celebrities myself, it seems that more and more of people are interested in the life of
celebrities and take a keen interest in their lives.
◦ First bulletpoint: You can include here the first bullet point, and comment on it. It is usually the evidence for your
statement, this is the information that follows:
◦ . Young people may see them as role models, or/because…
◦ Body: This is the section where you elaborate on the issue/phenomenon/problem etc. Each following bullet point is a
segment that you have to cover. Each bullet point will be a paragraph. Make sure that the reader sees that you are
commenting on the bullet point… you can use: as for the reason …/Turning to the question of whether…/when it comes
to…/As far as ______ concerned. Make a strong statement in each paragraph and give evidence of why you think that! You
can ask rhetorical questions as well. Each paragraph is 4-5 (long) sentences.

◦ You can include personal experience/stories etc., BUT don’t get to informal or only use it as a tool for explaining an idea.
