EXHAUST DANGERS AND FRANGIBLE PANEL


LOCATION
F-22 Ejection Seat Harness F-22 Ejection seat and restraint harness. To
release shoulder straps squeeze top and bottom
together until harness releases. Lap belts (lower
picture silver buckles) Flip cover and push
release bar to disconnect. Survival kit straps
(lower pic green buckles) push gold buttons to
release.
Left Side of
body panel

F-22 Engine Fuel shutoff valve shown in open position. (Located under Left and
Right Side of body panels) Panel is directly aft of main landing gear whee l(See
Diagram). Lt shown RT side similar.. Remove or pierce panels and rotate fuel
shut off valve arm down towards ground to closed position. Allow engines time
spool down before approaching inlets to prevent potential ingestion hazard.
(Use caution panel is thin composite and large tools or excessive force may
damage valve or other components.

broken with a palm strike with a
gloved hand to prevent cuts/injury.
In picture is the external canopy control switch
located in the nose landing gear wheel well Right
outboard bulkhead (DO NOT ACESS AREA WITH
ENGINES RUNNING) to open canopy, raise red
protective cover and push and hold switch in up
position until canopy is raised to full open.(If
canopy does not raise do not continue to hold
switch or frequently cycle this could cause
actuator to burn out and alternate methods will
be required.
