• Measuring cup
- is a kitchen utensil used
primarily to measure the volume of
liquid or bulk solid cooking
ingredients such as flour and sugar,
especially for volumes from about
50 mL (2 fl oz) upwards. Measuring
cups are also used to measure
washing powder, liquid detergents
and bleach for clothes washing.
• Measuring quart
There are 4 cups in
a quart.
• Measuring spoons

measure an amount of an
ingredient, either liquid or
dry, when cooking.
Measuring spoons may
be made of plastic, metal,
and other materials.
• Dietetic scales
• Timer
- A timer is a specialized type
of clock used for measuring
specific time intervals.
• A timer which counts upwards
from zero for measuring
elapsed time is often called a
stopwatch, while a device
which counts down from a
specified time interval is more
usually called a timer.
• thermometer
- an instrument that
measures temperature. It
can measure the
temperature of a solid such
as food, a liquid such as
water, or a gas such as air.
B. For Cutting, chopping, paring, slicing,
pounding
• Can opener
-A kitchen utensil that
is used to open or
remove the top from a
metal can.
• Kitchen knife - A kitchen knife is any knife that is
intended to be used in food preparation.
While much of this work can be
accomplished with a few general-
purpose knives – notably a large chef’s
knife, a tough cleaver, a small paring
knife and some sort of serrated
blade(such as a bread knife or serrated
utility knife) – there are also many
specialized knives that are designed for
specific tasks. Kitchen knives can be
made from several different materials
• Paring knife
- The paring knife is
great for peeling fruits and
vegetables; slicing a
single garlic clove or
shallot; controlled,
detailed cutting, such as
cutting shapes or vents
into dough; and scoring
designs and patterns on
surfaces of food.

as a shredder, is a
kitchen utensil used to
grate foods into fine
pieces.

extractor, is a tool used to
extract juice from fruits,
herbs, leafy greens and
other types of vegetables
in a process called juicing.
It crushes, grinds, and/or
squeezes the juice out of
the pulp. Some types of
juicers can also function as
a food processor.

Kitchen Gadgets and
Equipments
Blender
- multipurpose
equipment that can
chop, grind, whip,
blend, grate, ang liquify
fruits and vegetables
into juices.
 refrigerator
- is one of our most
valuable household
appliances. It keeps food
and drinks cool, by
pushing a liquid refrigerant
through a sealed system,
which causes it to
vaporize, and draw heat
out of the fridge.
 Cooking range
• A cooking range is a stove with
room for cooking several
different things at one time.
Technically, only the top section
of what most people call a stove
can be defined as a cooking
range. This flat section of the
stove usually contains a number
of flat heating elements or
cooking surfaces, either gas or
electric.
 Microwave oven
• Microwave ovens heat food
using microwaves, a form of
electromagnetic radiation
similar to radio waves. ... The
microwaves reflect off the
metal interior of the oven and
cause the water molecules in
food to vibrate. This vibration
results in friction between
molecules, which produces
heat that cooks the food.
 Turbo broiler
- turbo broiler is
a convenient, low-cost,
and low-energy
cooker that's a must in
every kitchen! Use it to roast
your proteins. Make fries
with less fat.
 5-in-1 Multi Cooker
-With five unique cooking
functions, this Multi-Cooker lets
you cook roasts, steam
vegetables, bake desserts or
brown meats. What's more, you
can easily switch between
functions for meals with multiple
steps and cooking techniques.
Heat this digital Crock-Pot just
like an oven to roast meat.
 Rice cooker
-rice steamer is
an automated kitchen
appliance designed to boil or
steam rice. It consists of a heat
source, a cooking bowl, and a
thermostat. The thermostat
measures the temperature of
the cooking bowl and controls
the heat.
