CYCLOALKANES
• Cycloalkanes are hydrocarbons with the general
formula CnH2n
• Molecules of cycloalkanes have their carbon
atoms arranged into a ring.
• They have only single bonds between carbon
atoms and their carbon atoms are sp3 hybridized
as in the alkanes.
• They are saturated.
• So, they show similar chemical properties with
alkanes.
• They give substitution reaction.
