What is APICS?

Founded in 1957 as American Production and Inventory Control Society

Today, officially know as The Educational Society for Resource
Management
It is a not-for-profit international organization with more than 60,000

APICS certification programs

CPIM (Certified Production and Inventory Management) applies

to many supply chain tasks and provides the necessary knowledge to
thrive in today's global competitive environment-both in terms of
reducing costs and increasing customer loyalty.

CIRM (Certified in Integrated Resource Management) is a

comprehensive educational program designed to help you understand the power
of collaboration among organizational resources such as product development,
marketing/sales, human resources, finance, and operations.

CFPIM (Certified Fellow Production and Inventory Management)

designation is awarded to an elite group of professionals who share their
knowledge with others through presenting, publishing, teaching, and
participating in other professional development activities like Presentations,
Published Works, Classroom Instruction and other Additional Activities.

CPIM Modules

Basics of Supply Chain Management (BSCM): Explore the basic

concepts in managing the flow of materials in a supply chain.
Master Planning of Resources (MPR): Explore the processes used to
develop sales and operations plans and identify and assess internal and external
demand and forecasting requirements.

Detailed Scheduling and Planning (DSP): Focus on the various techniques

for material and capacity scheduling. Study detailed descriptions of MRP, CRP,
inventory management practices, and procurement and supplier planning.

Execution and Control of Operations (ECO): Focus on the areas of

prioritizing and sequencing work, executing work plans and implementing
controls, reporting activity results, and providing feedback on performance.

Strategic Management of Resources (SMR): Explore the relationship of

existing and emerging processes and technologies to manufacturing strategy
and supply chain-related functions.
