Ecosystem
The ecosystem is a community of living
organisms along with the environment's
natural habitat and non-living
components. This network of living and
non-living components in a given area is
known as an Ecosystem. An ecosystem
could be a pond or a house’s well, and
some believe our earth is also an
Ecosystem.
The ecosystem
includes two major
components:-
Biotic Abiotic
Biotic components Abiotic
are all the living components are
organisms living in the non-living
the system such elements of the
as- system such as
•Animals such as-
•Plants •Air
•Fungi •Water
•Microorganisms •Sunlight
•Nutrients
•Temperature
Ecosystems can be of any size. The
area under the plant pot a rock, a
pond, a puddle, the vast ocean or
the city we live in, or OUR
COUNTRY!!
Take the area under the rock for
example, in this ecosystem, u will
find biotic components like
microorganisms and abiotic
components like soil, nutrients, air
etc.
Each organism living in an
ecosystem has a role or a
niche.
For example-A deer living in a
forest are prey, lions tigers and
coyotes eat them for food.
We must remember that no
two organisms can have the
same niche for too long, after a
while one has to either leave or
go extinct
FUN FACTS!
Did you know?
• Even if your body is an
ecosystem, you are an ecosystem
of thousands of microorganisms
that inhabit you.
• Ecosystems are little bubbles of
life in which all components
interact with each other to form
a connected web.
