ECOSYSTEM - is a community of living organisms along with their natural habitat and

the non living components of their environment. 

This network of living and non living components in a given area is known as ecosystem

An ecosystem could be a pond and could be your house as well 

 
Many people only think of animals when they learn of ecosystems, but in reality, an
ecosystem has animals, plants, and NON-living things too. 
Animals need to hide inside rocks and dead trees. Water is needed to drink and some
animals live in the water. Air is a non-living part of an eocsystem as well — all animals
need air. (Naay mo insert na picture sa wind sa middle ni risheil and naay whistle sa air)
Can you see in the picture? Is it an ecosystem?

Ecosystem includes to major components:

Biotic and abiotic components

BIOTIC COMPONENTS -Biotic components are all the living organisms living in the
system 

PLANTS animals fungi micro organism and even you you are part of biotic components
ABIOTIC COMPONENTS - Abiotic components are the non living elements of the system
such as 
Air water sunlight nutrients temperature
Each organism living in an ecosystem has a role or niche -A niche is the role a species plays in
the ecosystem. In other words, a niche is how an organism “makes a living.” A niche will include
the organism's role in the flow of energy through the ecosystem

Example a deer living in a forest is a prey- lilon , tigers,coyotes eat them for food

Many of the ecosystem are threatened due to climate change, pollution and human
destruction of habitat. Scientist called ecologist to study and monitor the health of
ecosystem and continually work to study new ways to protect our precious organisms
and environments.
