Load 2/19
DC Lights
For SHS and BCS, DC lights are necessary
– Available power is very limited
– Electricity is very precious
– High efficiency lights are necessary
Type of DC Lights
– DC Fluorescent Lamp
Compact Fluorescent Lamp (CFL)
– Halogen Lamp
– LED Lamp (Preferred Lamp for HEP Project because of its
high efficiency)
3W&1W LED
1W LED
7 W LED
Load 3/19
DC Lights
Halogen lamp is easily available at automobile parts shop
– Easily available but power consumption is higher than CFL.
LED lamp is now popular as lightings for both off-grid and on-grid areas
– Cost of LED is becoming cheaper than CFL light.
– LED light is now one of the component recommended for SHS

Formula
For SHS-30:
E = 30 x 4.14 x 0.64
= 79.49 Wh
approx- 80Wh
14
Formula
For SHS-75:
E = 75 x 4.14 x 0.64
= 198.72 Wh
approx - 200Wh
