Introduction
One of the life human pleasure and pride is eating. In this era, everything has changed a lot when
talking about food habits and taste for every household. There are a lot of trading activities that growing
up right now such as restaurants, hotels and services. Everyone have their own goals and vision to build
up their brand towards the market and the customers. For a restaurants, service quality and customer
satisfaction are important for keeping their business at a stable level in the market.
In term of restaurants, the management of restaurants is known as service Provider while the customers
are known as service receivers. Customers are regard as the pillar for each restaurant because without
customers the function of a restaurant is useless. The restaurant needs to serve a quality and good
services to their customers make sure the customers satisfied with services that provided . Most of the
restaurant in Palestine still uses the waiter to take customer orders.
This method is still consider efficient if the restaurant are not crowded, but however if the restaurant are
crowded with the customers, it will arise a lot of human error that made by the waiter such as missing of
order papers, mistake in jot down the order, did not have a waiter to take the order from customers and
others. Therefore, this project proposes a Food Ordering System Using QR Code.
To address the stated problem. This application will be use a mobile application for the customers and
for the staff of the restaurant. The customers need to use their phone with the application that has been
installed to scan the QR code from the menu. Then, the customers must submit the order to make a
confirmation and it will directly send to the kitchen.
 Purpose

The purpose of this document is to present a detailed description of smart Food Order system . It
will explain the purpose and features of the system, the interfaces of the system and interactions,
what the system will do, it will also explain system constraints under which it must operate.
 Scope

Smart Food Ordering System is a software application that helps restaurant staff to manage
incoming orders to the restaurant from inside or outside the restaurant and also facilitate the
process of ordering food. The application will be sold to owners of large restaurants to take
advantage of the services provided. The smart food ordering system will display the data received
from the sensors on all tables inside the restaurant to determine if the requester is actually sitting
at that table.
Overall Description

This section will provide an overview of the whole system. The system
will be explained in its context and show basic functionality of it. It will
also describe what type of stakeholders that will use the system and
what functionality is available for each type
 Product perspective

In this part of the system, the data read by the sensors is analyzed and presented in real time to
the application. If the sensor reading is greater than 0 cm and less than 30 cm, the user is taken to
the page that reads the QR code to initiate the request.
The application combines hardware components and software components.

 Basic hardware components :

 Distance sensor.
 Bluetooth sensor (HC-05).
 Arduino Uno.
 White board.

It is sensors used for determining the proximity of an

object without any physical contact involved.
Commonly associated with ultrasonic sensors, it functions
by outputting a signal (depending on technology;
ultrasonic waves, IR, LED, etc.) and measuring the
change when the signal returns.
Measurement of change can be in the form of:
The time it takes for a signal to return
The intensity of a returned signal
 Bluetooth sensor (HC-05)

HC-05 is a Bluetooth module which is designed for

wireless communication. This module can be used in a
master or slave configuration.
Bluetooth serial modules allow all serial enabled devices
to communicate with each other using Bluetooth.
 Arduino Uno
The Arduino Uno is an open-source microcontroller board
based on the Microchip ATmega328P microcontroller and
developed by Arduino.cc.[2][3] The board is equipped with
sets of digital and analog input/output (I/O) pins that may
be interfaced to various expansion boards (shields) and
other circuits.[1] The board has 14 digital I/O pins (six
capable of PWM output), 6 analog I/O pins, and is
rogrammable with the Arduino IDE (Integrated
Development Environment), via a type B USB cable.[4] It
can be powered by the USB cable or by an external 9-volt
battery, though it accepts voltages between 7 and 20
volts. It is also similar to the Arduino Nano and Leonardo.
[5][6] The hardware reference design is distributed under
a Creative Commons Attribution Share-Alike 2.5 license
and is available on the Arduino website. Layout and
production files for some versions of the hardware are
also available
