• It’s first ever National Agriculture Policy was announced in July 2000.
• Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare is Shri Narendra
Singh Tomar.
• Contributes about 17% to the total GDP and provides employment to
over 60% of the population.

• Communication, Information and Information Technology:
• It’s first ever National Policy on Information Technology was stated in
2012.
• Union Minister of Ministry of Communications and Information is
Ashwini Vaishnaw
• It has made access to government services and information easier.
• Marketing has become more easier and faster.

• EDUCATION:
• The National Education Policy was framed in 1986 and modified in 1992.
• Union Education Minister is Dharmendra Pradhan.
• It’s objective is to unversalize education and make India a global
knowledge superpower.

• EMPLOYMENT:
• Employment policy was first formulated in the fifth five year plan.
• Union Minister of labour and employment is Shree Bhupendra Yadav.
Street vendors, workers in construction,freelancers, domestic,migrant and
Agricultural workers and so on are benefited from these policies.

Environment and Forest:
• National Forest Policy in 1988 is now replaced by the draft National Forest
Policy in 2018.
• Shri Prakash Javadekar is the Union Minister of Environment, Forest and
Climate Change.
• A draft National Forest Policy focuses on conservation, protection and
management along with safeguarding the interest of tribals and forest
dependent people.

Health:
• National Health Policy, 2019 aims to reduce premature mortality from
cancer, cardiovascular diseases, chronic respiratory disease and diabetes by
25% within 2025.
• Dr.Bharati Pravin is the Union Minister of health in India.
• Due to these policies in India it is more affordable in terms of medical
treatment and travel when compared to western countries.
