ORGANIZING INFORMATION
LEARNING THE MUSTS OF WRITING, MAKING AN EFFECTIVE READING

A group creativity technique by which efforts are made to find a conclusion for a specific
problem by gathering a list of ideas spontaneously contributed by its member.

and graphic organizer techniques got you started. Now, you should understand
that planning and structuring your bank of information is what will keep you
going.

Outline
A. Topic Outline
When using this outline, ideas are written in short phrases arranged to show the development of
writing. This outline is suited for short document such as exposition of a process or classification.
B. Sentence Outline
In sentence outline, ideas are written in complete sentence which may serve as topic sentence in a
paragraph as you write your draft. Opposite to a topic outline, this is best used for longer papers,
such as research paper.
