Respondents prefer to visit branch for opening Fixed Deposit. Invest in Fixed Deposit because it is easy to invest. State Bank of India is the most preferred bank for investing in FD. Invest in Fixed Deposit for short term period. Suggestions: • Higher interest rate for senior citizens. • Contemplate factors before investing in Fixed Deposit. • Investing in different banks for different period of time. • Invest in Tax-saving FD. • An investment option for non-cumulative deposit Conclusion: From the selected private sector commercial banks, IDFC First Bank provides higher interest rate on Fixed Deposit as compared to Axis Bank, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank in the current year. Whereas, from the selected public sector commercial banks, Union Bank of India provides higher interest rate on Fixed Deposit as compared to State Bank of India, Central Bank of India and Bank of India. From the research, the conclusion can be drawn that the Fixed Deposit Rate keeps fluctuating every year. So, it is necessary to study the factors such as interest rate, maturity, penalty for breaking fixed term deposit before making investment.
