you deny me a blessing? If I did not pay my tithing, I should expect the Lord to withhold His blessings from me. I pay my tithing, not only because it is a law of God, but because I expect a blessing by doing it. By keeping this and other laws, I expect to prosper and to be able to provide for my family’” TITHES AND OFFERINGS BRINGS BLESSINGS
•“I do not say that if you pay an honest tithing

•…If we are paying tithing to get rich, we are doing it
for the wrong reason. The basic purpose for tithing is to provide the Church with the means needed to carry on the Lord’s work. The blessing to the giver is an ancillary return, and that blessing may not be always in the form of financial or material benefit” MALACHI 3:8–12

AND IF THERE IS ANY ONE THING THAT IS GRINDING AND DISCOURAGING AND DISHEARTENING, IT IS TO HAVE DEBTS AND OBLIGATIONS THAT ONE CANNOT MEET” PRESIDENT HEBER J. AS LEADERS AND MEMBERS OF THE CHURCH, WE SHOULD BE THE EPITOME OF INTEGRITY” PRESIDENT N. ELDON TANNER COUNSELING TOGETHER AS FAMILIES HELPS US DECIDE HOW RESOURCES SHOULD BE USED “BY DIVINE DESIGN, FATHERS ARE TO PRESIDE OVER THEIR FAMILIES IN LOVE AND RIGHTEOUSNESS AND ARE RESPONSIBLE TO PROVIDE THE NECESSITIES OF LIFE AND PROTECTION FOR THEIR FAMILIES. MOTHERS ARE PRIMARILY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE NURTURE OF THEIR CHILDREN. IN THESE SACRED RESPONSIBILITIES, FATHERS AND MOTHERS ARE OBLIGATED TO HELP ONE ANOTHER AS EQUAL PARTNERS. DISABILITY, DEATH, OR OTHER CIRCUMSTANCES MAY NECESSITATE INDIVIDUAL ADAPTATION. EXTENDED FAMILIES SHOULD LEND SUPPORT WHEN NEEDED” “THE MINUTE A MAN STOPS SUPPLICATING GOD FOR HIS SPIRIT AND DIRECTIONS JUST SO SOON HE STARTS OUT TO BECOME A STRANGER TO HIM AND HIS WORKS. WHEN MEN STOP PRAYING FOR GOD’S SPIRIT, THEY PLACE CONFIDENCE IN THEIR OWN UNAIDED REASON, AND THEY GRADUALLY LOSE THE SPIRIT OF GOD, JUST THE SAME AS NEAR AND DEAR FRIENDS,… IN PROVIDING FOR THE NECESSITIES OF LIFE, A PLAN SHOWING HOW MUCH MONEY IS EARNED AND WHERE THAT MONEY WILL BE SPENT CAN BE VERY HELPFUL. SUCH A PLAN IS CALLED A BUDGET.

PARTNERS IN A MARRIAGE PARTICIPATE IN A FAMILY BUDGET? “MANAGEMENT OF FAMILY FINANCES SHOULD BE MUTUAL BETWEEN HUSBAND AND WIFE IN AN ATTITUDE OF OPENNESS AND TRUST. CONTROL OF THE MONEY BY ONE SPOUSE AS A SOURCE OF POWER AND AUTHORITY CAUSES INEQUALITY IN THE MARRIAGE AND IS INAPPROPRIATE.
