    MEENAKSHI SUNDARESWARAR

    The Primary Deity Of The Temple is Meenakshi, also called


    Parvathi. The consort of Meenakshi is Sundareswarar also called
    Shiva.
    GOLDEN LOTUS

    The Temple has golden lotus pond inside. It is called as


    PORTHAMARAI KULAM.
    THOUSAND PILLAR HALL

    THOUASAND PILLAR HALL

    The Temple has Thousand pillared hall. It has regarded as the “WONDER OF THE PALACE”. There are 985 carved pillars.
    MEENAKSHI THIRUKALYANAM

    The important festival in this temple is “ CHITHIRAI THIRUVIZHA”.


    This also known as “MEENAKSHI THIRUKALAYANAM”.
    VISITORS

    Every day there will be about 15 thousand visitors and on fridays


    around 25 thousand visitors.
    During April/May festivals the temple attaracts 1 million visitors.
    Indians and foreigners also visit the temple any time.
    MODE OF TRANSPORT
    We can go to Madurai by air, train, bus and car. We can reach the temple by bus, car and auto rickshaws.
