 According 2022 total population of india140 crore 52% male 48%

female including 6 lakh transgender

 There is 41% population of children o in India out of total population.

 Total Union Budget amounts to Rs 3,944,909 crore, according to the

2022-23

 Allocations for the welfare of children, is Rs 92,736.5 crore

 Gender Budget component in the Union Budget since 2005-06.
 The Gender Budget statement comprise of two parts
i. highlights the Women Specific Schemes, with 100% allocation for women,

ii. schemes where at least 30% of the allocation is for women.  


it has shrunk as a percentage of total Budget expenditure
The Gender Budget, an increase of 11.5%
 rising from ₹1,53,326.28 crore. to ₹1,71,006.47 crore.

organizations (CBOs) .

 shelter homes are in the States of Maharashtra, Delhi, West Bengal,


Rajasthan, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Tamil Nadu and Odisha.

 These shelter homes would Also provide basic amenities like food, medical


care, recreational facilities

This year's budgetary allocation for children, as a proportion of the Union Budget, is actually the
lowest in the last 10 years.
it has been reduced by 2.41 percentage points; from 4.76% (2012-13 BE) to 2.35% (2022-23 BE),

D2. IMPACTS

 Union Budget 2022-23 has not focused on issues of inflation, access to education and
healthcare for all.
 Reduction in the fund allocation for national schemes such as MNREGA that benefit
the population falling under BPL (Below Poverty Line.

 Under gender budget Women-centric schemes have been allocated ₹ 26,772.89 crore.


This is a marginal 6% rise from the last Budget,   
 The gender budget statement should be developed by undertaking gender audits and
that we need to focus on strengthening gender-disaggregated data.

 We need to understand the multi-stakeholder roles in the gender budget conversation


and that it is high time we formulate and implement policies for women in different
fields including agriculture.
