1. “Math Literacy Extent in Algebra of Grade 8 Students in Naga National Highschool”

Purpose of the Study

In our country, math literacy extent or level are quite alarming, and this indicate that students have difficulty in comprehension on
mathematical problems that leads to failure in their exams. Reading and writing activities can help students analyze, interpret and communicate
mathematical ideas. These are skills needed to evaluate sources of information and the validity of the information itself, a key competency for
mathematically literate citizens. According to Posamentier and Jaye (2006), “Mathematical deficiency seems to be common in our society and
the mathematics illiteracy is particularly alarming, especially in the context of our country’s poor showing on recent international comparison
tests.”
Significance of the Study
This study will help the students, teachers and school stakeholders because they will be able to find out the literacy level of their
respective institution. It makes them aware what is their current situation, if the students have poor or high literacy rate in mathematics, so that
they could impose immediate action or solution to fill the gaps of their students.
Instruments of the Study
The descriptive quantitative design will be use in the study wherein it aims to accurately and systematically describe a population and
situation regarding on math literacy in Algebra of Grade 8 Students in Naga National Highschool. This study will also use Likert Scale in
collecting data to the respondents, in which there would be 50 participants in the study.
2. “Assessing the Role of Integrated Learning of Grade 7 in Naga National High School Student’s
Algebraic Proficiency”
Purpose of the Study
This study aims to assess the integrated learning of Grade 7 students in their algebraic proficiency. Integrative learning is the process of
making connections among concepts and experiences so that information and skills can be applied to complex issues or challenges. We
already know that nowadays, students’ algebraic proficiency is reportedly poor due to various forces that affects on it, that’s why we will study
this so that we can dig deeper on it.

Significance of the Study

This study will help the teachers, guardians, institutions and most specially the students in assessing the effectiveness of integrated
learning of Grade 7 students in their algebraic proficiency.

Instrument of the Study

The descriptive qualitative design will be use in the study wherein it aims to accurately and systematically describe a population and
situation regarding on algebraic proficiency of Grade 7 Students enrolled in Naga National High School. This study will also use Questioners
and Likert Scale in collecting data to the respondents, in which there would be 50 participants in the study.
3. “Level of Learning Attainment in Algebra of Grade 7 Students in Private and Public Schools in the
City of Naga on Face-to-Face Classes”
Purpose of the Study
Algebra is one of the most important topics in math as it forms a base for some complex topics in the higher classes. It is an important life skill worth
understanding well and it moves us beyond basic math and prepares us for statistics and calculus (Demi, 2018). This gave us the strength to determine the
level of learning attainment of grade 7 students in public school from City of Naga National High School and private school from Professional Academy of
the Philippines located in the City of Naga to compare its academic performance in algebra, for us to identify where they do get better opportunities in
learning mathematics.
Significance of the Study
This study will guide the parents on what school they must enroll their students if they want their children to excel in algebra and mathematics.
It also enlightens the institutions to fill the gaps where they lack in methods of teaching mathematics, specifically in algebra. For math teachers, this is also a
good way for them to perform a better pedagogy that suits for the specific subject, which helps inculcate better understanding of algebra to their respective
students. Lastly, for the learners, having a good learning environment for them leads to better learnings and opportunities that has big impact for their future.
Instrument of the Study
The correlational quantitative design will be use in the study. The two main variables in the study are the students from public and private secondary
schools in the City of Naga, these schools are City of Naga National High School and Professional Academy of the Philippines. There would be 40
respondents per school which is from grade 7 section, overall, 80 respondents. The study shall use Likert Scale which is a rating scale that quantitatively
assesses attitudes and behaviors towards algebra, and it is made up of 4 or more questions that measure a single attitude or trait when response scores are
combined. This study will also use the SOLO Model (Structured of the Observed Learning Outcome) in assessing algebraic solving ability of secondary
students. The SOLO taxonomy is designed mainly as a mean to assess students' cognitive ability in school learning context (Vallecillos & Moreno, 2002).
4. “An Evaluation of Grade 10 Learner’s Arithmetic Competency using Computer - Based Instruction”

Purpose of the Study

We want to evaluate the learner’s arithmetic competency who engaged in computer – based instruction, so that we can determine its
effectiveness to student’s learning outcome in this particular field.

Significance of the Study

This study helps the students, teachers and institution because it can greatly contribute to their specific areas in education.

Instrument of the Study

The descriptive qualitative design will be use in the study. This study will also use Questioners and Likert Scale in collecting data to the
respondents, in which there would be 40 participants in the study.
5. “The Relationship of the Students Learning Algebra in Rural and Urban High School in the C
ity of Naga”

on taking education course major in mathematics.

Instrument of the Study

The descriptive qualitative design will be use in the study and use Likert Scale which is a rating scale that assesses attitudes and
behaviors.
7. “The relationship between students and teachers in the Midst of Pandemic”

Gaps
Pandemic did a big difference in the lives of all specially to the students and teachers since pandemics started. This study focuses on how
teachers approaches students with their teaching strategies and students to teachers with their learning during pandemic. This will help the
learners and teachers in terms of flexible learning not just in papers with teaching students to experience and to be more cultivated.
8. “The Efficacy of Strategic Intervention Material towards the Mathematical Performance of Grade Six
Students of Naga Central Elementary School”
Purpose of the Study
The Strategic Intervention Material is a kind of material that have instructions that the means is to teach the concept and skills in a
particular subject. This study focuses on the positive effects of using Strategic Intervention Material in the subject of mathematics and how it
affects the performance of the students. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of strategic intervention material on grade 6 students, so
that we can develop a way how to improve this intervention on the students learning and performance in the school premises. This study will
measure the effectiveness of using this kind of material in teaching students.
