 OVF- A viewfinder gives you a real image
 Optical view finder is the part of the camera that you
look through to check out the scene that you need to
capture.
“DSLR”- Digital Single Lens Reflex
 Depth of Field

- DOF is the distance between the nearest and furthest

elements in a scene that appear to be ‘acceptably
sharp’.
- It essentially refers to how blurry or sharp the area is
around your subject.
- Portraits often have a soft, unfocused background
( shallow DOF)
- Landscapes often have more of the image in focus
( large DOF)
Factors that affect DOF

 Aperture
 Distance from the subject to camera
 Focal length of lens on your camera
How distance controls DOF?

“Bokeh”

 It’s a Japanese word

 Bokeh means blur
 Bokeh refers to the aesthetic nature of blur in
any given photograph
How do you get Bokeh effect?
 Wide aperture
 Increase the distance between subject & background
 Get closer to your subject
 Use a longer focal length
 Aperture blades- better quality lens
 Use a good background
 Use foreground bokeh to isolate your subject

Optical Viewfinder
Advantages-
 No shutter lag
 Always on
 Higher optical quality
 Zero energy consumption
Mirrorless camera

 A mirrorless camera is a type of camera that works

without a reflex mirror.
 Light passes through the lens directly to the digital
sensor, which then displays your image on the
camera’s LED screen, allowing you to adjust settings
and preview your image before its shot.
 Has a electronic viewfinder- EVF
What is a electronic viewfinder?

 Viewfinder gives you a real image

 EVF use a tiny electronic display much like the
larger LED screen on the back of all cameras
 EVF doesn’t show you a view through the lens.
Advantages of EVF

 What you see is what you get

 Television like experience
 100 % coverage
 No mirror blackouts
What’s inside a mirrorless camera?

 Controls
 Flash
 Sensor
 Image processor
