What is a Win Condition in LoL?

● Simply put, the Win Condition is the series of steps and objectives that increases
your team’s probability of winning.

● The steps, objectives, and variables change every single game. Although the Win
Condition might be similar, the steps and variables are constantly changing.

● Why is this even important?

The Universal Rule of 2

● What is a Universal Rule?

● Universal Rule: A constant that is never changing.

● The Universal Rule of 2:

1. Surrender
2. Nexus

I – Identifying Win Conditions

● Splitpushing
Splitpushing teams focus on
maintaining map control by
pressuring the side lanes.
Typically, the team’s splitpusher
will pressure on the opposite
side of the map from the current
objective. The remaining players
will pressure the current objective
but NOT force the objective.

● Teamfighting

● Teamfighting compositions are

the most common, but are also
some of the best compositions to
pull off when playing solo queue.
Teamfighting allows you to force
when ahead, and even win when
behind. They rely on their AoE
abilities to force and overtake
the game by winning consecutive
teamfights.

● Sieging

● Sieging compositions rely on

using long-range abilities and
CC chains to push your lead.
Typically, these comps don’t
even need to kill any enemies,
but they need to force them
back to base so that they can
get their objective. Patience is
the key point in playing on this
composition.
I – Identifying Win Conditions

● Look at these factors and ask yourself:

● “What does our team possess that is better than the enemy’s team?”

● Common Factors
● Engage, Crowd Control, AoE Abilities -> Teamfight
● Harass, Long-Range CC (Hooks, Bindings), Peelers -> Siege
● Skirmisher, Global pressure, Wave Clear -> Splitpush

● These are just generalized, basic factors.

● Look at what each Champion brings to the table, what are their limits?

P – Pronouncing the Main Objective

● Most people do not consider the Win Condition, so tell them!

● Pronounce to your team at the beginning of the game 3 important things:

● The main threat to your team
● The main strength of your team
● Your plan for the game
● Example (from a Support’s perspective):
● “Hey guys, let’s shut down Yi by keeping control of scuttles, drags, and rift. I’ll keep
vision on Drag. If we keep this game til late, Nasus and Vayne can carry.”
