Romania’s relief

Romania’s relief is a complex and harmonious unity of a range of

mountains, hills and fields, completed by the Danube Delta and Black
Sea Coast.
It is arranged concentrically: in the center are the Carpathians,
which surrounds the hills of Transylvania, at their foothills the
Subcarphatians and the western hills, then it goes down to the
outside through the plateaus and at the edges are the fields.
The relief contains a balanced combination between mountains
(28%), hills and plateaus (42%) and fields (30%). It occupies
approximately one third of the country's surface.
