Presentation on
Inclined tube manometer
Introduction

An Inclined Tube Type Manometer is a modified version of a Well Type

manometer wherein the vertical leg is placed in an almost horizontal
position so that a very small change in pressure in the Well causes a very
large change in the measured level of liquid in the inclined Leg

Working Principal

The column is mounted at an angle. The pressure is indicated by the

vertical amount the liquid rises or falls in the column. Because of the
incline, a small change in pressure will cause greater movement of the
liquid in the column.
Working

For measuring the pressure, one tube of the Inclined Tube Manometer forms
into a reservoir & the other tube of the manometer is inclined, as per it's
required angle. After giving the pressure on its reservoir, which are filled with
the suitable liquid, shows the changes, in the heights of the other tube or angle,
of the inclined tube manometer
Construction

This inclined Tube is made by Acrylic or Plastic body Manometer Working

Principle For measuring the pressure, one tube of the Inclined Tube
Manometer forms
Advantage

1 Usefull for low pressure measurement.

2. High sensitivity.
3. Convenient to use.
Disadvantage

1. The inclined monometer has no over range protection

2. It has lack of portability.
3. A major disadvantage of the manometer is it has slow
response, which makes it unsuitable for measuring fluctuating
pressures.
Application

Many applications require accurate measurement of low pressure such as

drafts and very low differentials, primarily in air and gas installations. In
these applications the manometer is arranged with the indicating tube
inclined, as in Figure 4, therefore providing an expanded scal
