CELEBRATING FAMILY THROUGH THE TEXTS – PORTRAIT OF A LADY; WE ARE
NOT AFRAID TO DIE AND A PHOTOGRAPH
A FEW WORD TO THOSE WHO ALWAYS STUCK BY US
• Family is the greatest blessing one can hope to receive in one’s life. In these hard times,
when humanity is threatened by a pandemic and we are bounded by the four walls of our
houses, we have realized the values of a few things which make our house a home, our
lives much simpler and warmer to live. One of these is our families, spending time with
them is a source of sanity in this hellhole of a pandemic . This is a gift, to show a pint of
gratitude, love and warmth from us, for standing with us and for their role in our life and
for contributing heavily to our growth as a human being.

• The most influential members of my family who have always been by my side are, of
course, my parents. From the time I was a child, they have taught me to always
distinguish right from wrong, to be compassionate and empathetic and to always help
those in need. My father introduced me to things he knew I’d love like science, rock
music and art. My mother taught me how to play certain instruments too and she made
me learn singing for which I am thankful to her. I also look up to my grandparents for
inspiration. I could always learn about technology from my granddad who had been a
Professor of electronics in an university. My grandma was the most caring person I have
ever seen. I’m grateful to have been a part of this wonderful family and I hope to one day
make everyone in my family proud of me too.

• Welcome to a peek into my family. Yes, the people with whom I was locked in my house
for ( I lost count of ) days. All events considered, I have enjoyed my house arrest days –
maybe not every day, but most of it. This is what I felt when I spent my lockdown days.
Not all of us are blessed with loving parents. In my house which is elevated to a home by
two beautiful souls, my parents, my family, who have stood by me with no matter what
decision I took, or path I chose. This is to you, Maa and Papa, for letting me hold your
hands since the day I saw the light of the world and even before.
AN ODE TO MY MAA
I have no idea where to start when it comes to my mother. My
mother is more of my best friend than a parent. Ever since I
peeked as a single cell till today, she has been there, to catch
me when I fall, to hold me when I cry, to wipe my tears, laugh
at my lame jokes, enjoy my sarcasm, fixing my wings and
loving me. To you- Love you Always and Forever.
THIS IS TO YOU-PAPA
My best friend once told me that thanking your family
is not just a formality, but a show of gratitude to the
ones who love and care for you. When I am writing to
me father, it is like celebrating 16 years of fatherhood,
since the day the doctor said, " A new member is
coming" to, "My laptop is heating up, what to do", a
macabre of laughter and love, a journey I can only seek
of more.

“Other things may change us,but we start and end with a family.” To me family is not
about living in a house with people who are related by blood to us. It is only about
the love, warmth, kindness, care that those people share with each other. My family is
my life and i will never be able to thank them enough for the innumerable sacrifices
they have done for me, for all the pains that they have undertaken to ensure i was
fine and comfortable, for the luxurious life they have blessed me with. All the credit
goes to two incredible people in my life Mumma and Papa. So here is a small token
of gratitude towards them.
TO MUMMA:
You are the reason i am here today. You have always inspired me,
sacrificed your entire life to build and shape mine. Your care, affection
and unconditional love is unmatched. Thank you for always helping
me to make the right decisions and lead an upright life. You are truly my
angel in disguise. My best friend who knows how to cheer me up, who
confides everything in me, who helps me to pass through my dark
phases, points out my strengths and encourages me to work upon my
weaknesses. Thank you for existing. LOVE YOU!!!!
TO PAPA:
The lockdown has really strengthened our bond. There would be days
when we could not communicate and spend time with each other, Both
of us were so busy in our lives and our work. I have always admired you
and looked up to you. You are one of the most diligent and hardworking
people i have ever known. Your sense of humour is amazing and i am
really lucky to have a father like you who has never failed to provide me
with all the necessities and spoil me with luxuries. I am really proud of
you and your passion for cricket. Thank you for your support and
everything else! LOVE YOU!!
